About

Wilson Rawls grew up in the Ozark Mountains of Oklahoma, where he dreamed of owning hunting dogs. He based Where the Red Fern Grows on his own boyhood. It is a moving story about a boy and his two coonhounds, and it has a famously sad ending, so be ready with tissues.
